Welcome to Kickin’ Kountry 101! We’re excited to showcase new and up-and-coming country artists. If you’re an independent country artist or a label looking to get your music heard, you’ve come to the right place. Here at Kickin’ Kountry, we’re passionate about championing fresh voices while adhering to the broadcast standards of a Mediabase-monitored station.
What We Accept
We are looking for high-quality country music in the following genres.
Please note: We do not accept Folk or Bluegrass submissions.
Traditional Country
Modern Country
Patriotic Country
Christian Country
Before You Submit: Mediabase Requirements
Since Kickin’ Kountry is a Mediabase-monitored station, your track must meet specific requirements to be considered for airplay. Follow the steps below to ensure your track is properly registered and encoded:
Get an ISRC: Secure an ISRC code for your track (available from your distributor or ISRC agency).
Submit to Mediabase: Submit your track through Mediabase’s New Music Notification so it can be encoded and recognized.
Match the Version: Ensure you send us the exact version of the track (title, artist, mix/version) that you’ve registered with Mediabase. If the versions do not match, Mediabase will skip your spins, and we won’t be able to air the track.
Submission Requirements
Please ensure your submission meets the following requirements:
Track File: One (1) MP3 or WAV file — radio edit of the current single you are actively promoting to country radio.
File Naming Convention: Artist – Song Title (Radio Edit).mp3
Properly Tagged Metadata (Required):
Title: Song Title
Artist: Exact Artist Name
Label: Label Name (or “Independent” if applicable)
Genre: Country
ISRC: Required (if available, strongly recommended)
Year/Release Date: Optional but helpful
EPK/One-Sheet: Include a PDF or a link to your press page.
Please note: We do not accept streaming links (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) for airplay review.
How to Submit
Send your completed submission to music@kickinkountry101.com. All materials should be sent together to ensure a smooth review process.
Review & Airplay
Review Process: All submissions are reviewed by our Music Director, Program Director, and Consultant.
Backroads Breakouts: If approved, your song may be featured on our show Backroads Breakouts, airing Saturdays & Sundays at 5 PM ET.
Airplay: Airplay is not guaranteed and depends on programming needs and broadcast standards. We will only contact you if your submission is accepted for airplay.
Quality & Compliance
File Requirements: Only clean radio edits will be considered for airplay. Submissions with incorrect or missing tags may be rejected.
Broadcast Standards: Kickin’ Kountry reserves the right to decline any submission that doesn’t meet our format or audio standards.
Legal Note
No Pay-for-Play: Kickin’ Kountry does not accept any compensation in exchange for airplay. All placement decisions are made at the sole discretion of our programming team.
